An Overview of the CSBCL
AN OVERVIEW OF THE CSBCLPART I is a list of 150 behaviors related to sex and sexuality in children twelve years and younger. PART II provides information on the child's home environment, peer relationships, and whether the child was abused or witnessed violence. Respondent's comments are requested. PART III provides descriptive information on any worrisome sexual behaviors in which the child engaged with other children. Respondents are asked to provide written information. The final question of this section asks each respondent whether he or she thinks the child has a sexual problem. PART IV lists 26 problematic characteristics of children's sexual behavior. The evaluator asks respondents which, if any, of the characteristics describe this child's sexual behavior and to what degree. Comments are requested so the evaluator can better understand the child's behaviors. |

Space Invaders - A Game About BoundariesSpace Invaders - A Game About Boundaries has a very wide audience as many families have difficulties with boundaries and this game provides a fun way for a family to work on the boundaries in their home. The game does not require a therapist to play. However, if a family is in therapy and boundaries are an issue, the game gives the therapist good insight into the family dynamics and allows the therapist to help the family define consistent, healthy boundaries. There are two sets of 80 brightly colored cards. The game is easy to learn and fun to play. It can be played like "Concentration" or "Go Fish." The whole family will enjoy playing it. You will note that the game is also good for special populations such as those where sexual abuse has occurred. There are special instructions in the package for using the game when there have been emotional, physical or sexual boundary violations in the home. This game is also very useful when there have been allegations of sexual abuse but it is unclear if it happened. Besides using the game with families, therapists have been using the game in groups of sexual abuse victims, children with sexual behavior problems, and adolescents with sexually abusive behaviors to understand the issues in their homes regarding emotional, physical and sexual boundaries. It is specifically designed to combat the possible negative effects of abuse and neglect on sexual development of young people.
