PART I is a list of 150 behaviors related to sex and sexuality in children twelve years and younger.

PART II provides information on the child's home environment, peer relationships, and whether the child was abused or witnessed violence. Respondent's comments are requested.

PART III provides descriptive information on any worrisome sexual behaviors in which the child engaged with other children. Respondents are asked to provide written information. The final question of this section asks each respondent whether he or she thinks the child has a sexual problem.

PART IV lists 26 problematic characteristics of children's sexual behavior. The evaluator asks respondents which, if any, of the characteristics describe this child's sexual behavior and to what degree. Comments are requested so the evaluator can better understand the child's behaviors.

Space Invaders - A Game About Boundaries

Space Invaders - A Game About Boundaries has a very wide audience as many families have difficulties with boundaries and this game provides a fun way for a family to work on the boundaries in their home. The game does not require a therapist to play. However, if a family is in therapy and boundaries are an issue, the game gives the therapist good insight into the family dynamics and allows the therapist to help the family define consistent, healthy boundaries.

There are two sets of 80 brightly colored cards. The game is easy to learn and fun to play. It can be played like "Concentration" or "Go Fish." The whole family will enjoy playing it.

You will note that the game is also good for special populations such as those where sexual abuse has occurred. There are special instructions in the package for using the game when there have been emotional, physical or sexual boundary violations in the home. This game is also very useful when there have been allegations of sexual abuse but it is unclear if it happened.

Besides using the game with families, therapists have been using the game in groups of sexual abuse victims, children with sexual behavior problems, and adolescents with sexually abusive behaviors to understand the issues in their homes regarding emotional, physical and sexual boundaries.

Sexuality Curriculum For Abused Children And Young Adolescents, And Their Parents - Revised 2014

This curriculum of over 50 structured exercises is for use with children six years old up to young adolescents, and their parents. It is specifically designed to combat the possible negative effects of abuse and neglect on sexual development of young people. Each exercise was designed to provide a healthy and positive understanding of sex and sexuality for youth and parents from abusive backgrounds.

The major areas of sexuality covered are: sexual values and how they are transmitted in families; the relationship between sexual attitudes and values and sexual behavior; sexual myths; sexual object choice; sexual boundaries; sexual harassment; puberty; conception; contraception; and sexually transmitted diseases. All these areas are presented using interesting and thought provoking exercises.

Exercises teach parents and youth how to differentiate between healthy sexuality and problematic sexual behaviors. Parents are taught how to talk to children and adolescents about sexuality and respond to their sexual behaviors. Youth are given tips on how to talk to their parents about sex. Children, young adolescents and parents complete valuable and informative exercises, games and role-plays together and separately. Exercises have eye-catching, appealing hand drawn graphics to encourage an energetic and enthusiastic response from young people.

Information regarding child sexual abuse is provided using several exercises to engage the youth and parents in discussions leading to a deeper understanding of abuse and its effect on the individual and family and sexuality.
